The influence of laser cutting parameters on cutting quality
(1) Focus position
The focal position has a greater influence on the roughness of the cut surface, and different materials have different requirements for the focus position. For example, when cutting carbon steel, the focus position is on the upper surface of the plate; when cutting stainless steel, the focus position is about 1/2 of the thickness of the plate; when cutting aluminum alloy, the focus position is close to the lower surface.
(2) Laser power
Laser power mainly affects the slit width and surface roughness. Normally, the slit width increases with the increase of laser power. Under a certain plate thickness and cutting speed, there is an optimal laser power range, within which the roughness of the cutting surface is the smallest. Deviation from the optimal power range will increase the roughness, and further increase or decrease the power will cause overburning or slagging defects.
(3)cutting speed
There is an optimal cutting speed under a certain plate thickness and laser power, and the cutting surface roughness is the smallest under this laser speed. Deviation from the optimal cutting speed will increase the roughness, and further increase or decrease the cutting speed will also cause overburning or slagging defects.
