On the market, there are single head laser die cutting machine and double heads laser die cutting machine. When you are planning to buy a laser die cutting machine, you need to know about the different between single head laser die cutter and double head laser die cutter.

Difference 1: Speed difference. Under the circumstance of same laser power(for example 300W) and same materials( 18 mm plywood), double head laser die cutter is faster than single head laser die cutter, the working speed of double head laser die cutter is around 25~30m/hour, but for single head laser die cutter, the speed is around 15~20m/hour.

Difference 2: optical path adjusting. You only need to adjust 1 optical path for single head laser die cutting machine and you don’t need to adjust it too often. But for double head laser die cutter, there is one more optical path needs to be adjusted and you need to check them often to avoid the paths are not parallel.

Difference 3: cutting ways. Single head laser die cutting machine cuts the die board with only 1 laser cutting head. The kerf can be nicer and the surface of the kerf is smooth. But for round circle cutting, the up kerf and down kerf are not vertical, the round circle won’t be as round as it should be. But for double head laser die cutter, because it works to cut the die from up and down, if the laser die cutting machine is not adjusted well,  the kerf might be not vertical and straight and accuracy might be lower.

Difference 4: the laser tube replacement cost. For 300W double head laser die cutting machine, the market is stable and mature. It needs 2 piece of 150W laser tubes and lifespan is good, if you need to replace it you can find them on the market easily. But for single head laser die cutter, the laser tube system is complicated, it is made up of 2 or 3 laser tubes which is related to each other. If one of them is broken, you need to replace the whole set. And this kind of laser tube is expensive and not common on the market.
